My name is Vee, and I am a sewing addict.
First things first-- Introductions. My name is Vee, and I am a sewist.
A sewing addict.
A vintage clothing enthusiast, vintage pattern collector, and a fan of old things-- mid-century furniture, household goods, and all the lovely old things one finds in the dresser drawers at estate sales. I love old handwork, like crocheted gloves, embroidered pillowcases and handkerchiefs, and handmade lace on the edge of kitchen towels. I an fascinated by the creativity of homemakers during the Depression years; feed sack dresses and aprons, china that came in boxes of oatmeal and given away with movie tickets...
It's a problem. So I will be sharing vintage sewing patterns here, along with my process as I adapt them to modern sizing and make clothing for myself and my family. I hunt for vintage fabric, so I will share those adventures as well.

(I opened a store on Etsy to share the overflow with other vintage lovers, but I still have way too many patterns and pillowcases and sweet little aprons. Too many pieces of kitschy kitchen goods. And far too much costume jewelry. Check it out here, if you want to: Tiny House Vintage)
I live in a very small house, with no real room for a sewing studio. So my sweetheart built me a tiny house in the back yard-- the Tulle Shed. I have stacks of fabric on shelves, room for a cutting table and all my machines, and a file cabinet filled with hundreds of old patterns. Some of them date back to the 1930s, but the bulk of them are from the 50s and 60s. I am excited to share them! So watch this space!
